Can I Be Charged for a Web Chat
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

My friends and I have, for a week or two now, getting on Omegle video chat when we're bored in between classes. and It's all been fine and dany until today my friend (whos computer we used) got his laptop confiscated and had to make a statement, and then I got taken into the campus police office to make a statement too. They said we weren't in trouble for anything but they said they saw through the wifi viewing or whatever they do that there was obviously some young girl they thought could have possibly been coerced onto the camera by someone withthem and they want to find her.

Now me and my friends make it a point to NOT talk even vaguely sexually with people who aren't clearly at least 17 or 18, and the only young girls, or girls in general, we talked two were 13 or 14, very visibly fully clothed, and all they asked was how old they looked. We told them they looked to be about 12 years old, asked the, why they weren't in school, and hung up. We hardly saw any girls at ALL. Now I understand if we get in trouble with the school for looking at a website with clearly nude guys touching themselves, and talking to them to troll or whatever, but can we actually be charged with any sort of crime when we didn't do anything?

clearly? How about proven to be and you need to stick with 18.

sorry but it doesn't take nudity to be committing a crime. What you say can get you into a world of trouble if they are under age girls (or boys).

so, depending on exactly what was said, there is a possibility of problems.
