Changing my daughter's last name in Texas
My daughter was born in TX. She is 2 yrs old and I've not keeped in tough with her father. He wants no involvement. I became involved with someone before my daughter was born, and since we talked about marriage, I decided to give her his last name at her birth. It has been almost 3 yrs and were not married and I have decided to end it. I want to change my daughter's last name to my maiden name. We are moving to GA. Do I have to get this done before we leave? How do I start the process? And will I need to find her biological father to have this done?

You and pa sign the papers and file them at the courthouse in Texas before you head for Georgia.
