Emancipation in Michigan

My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Michigan

Can a 17 year old leave their parents home in Michigan without being emancipated? She has a place to stay, a job and are enrolled in school. Mother and Step-Father are emotionally and mentally abusive and physical abuse is starting. She is becoming emotionally unstable and it's starting to affect her school work.

yes, in Michigan (which is the only state I am aware it is possible) at 17 you can leave home. You are not emancipated so you do not enjoy the benefits of being 18 but you can leave.



I haven't verified this but I believe your parents would be able to rescind their permission for you to have a driver's license. That means you do without until you turn 18.
