Paid Relocation Lead to Termination Shortly Later. Can They Hold My Checks
My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Massachusetts
The company I work for had sent me an email agreeing to hold all future pay Checks if I was no longer with them with in 12 months. I replied agreed. One month later I was terminated for no reason upon arrival 2000 miles away from home via email. I have proof of production and I was working. I had never been written up and had many accomPlishments in the time I was with the company. It's been 13 days since termination and no reason why I was let go and I'm at a loss for a whole months work. I read up on constructive dismisal which sounds relevant since I'm sales based and was sent to an area that has no proof of passed production. Here's the catch, they offered me the lowest position available so I took it voiding out the "online moving agreement". Besides filling with the state on lost wages and commissions is there anything else I can do? Is an email even a binding legal agreement if it was through hotmail with no signature? I feel as if there's more I can do to become whole on this matter. Please I need help. Thank you.
Re: Paid Relocation Lead to Termination Shortly Later. Can They Hold My Checks
Are you stating that you took a relocation allowance and agreed that, if you left employment for any reason, your employer could recover part of that allowance from paychecks not yet issued?
