Shoplifting Statute of Limitations
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Alabama
3 years ago I was brought into questioning over a theft that took place at a Walmart for about $1,200.
I'm very grateful that it didn't go any further than the questioning (all I said was "I want my lawyer". They let me go saying they would stay in touch...)
I realize I'm very blessed; I do regret what happened and I've changed my ways.
I was just wondering what the Statue of Limitations was for something like this?
Re: Shoplifting Statute of Limitations
$1200 is a felony. They have three years for felonies, one year for misdemeanors.
