My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: New York
I sublet an apartment in New York City. Can I sublet a room in the apartment that I sublet ( a double sublet I guess)?
Thanks

What does your current agreement say about such an arrangement? This is a question you need to be asking your landlord.
Asking the landlord: do you mean the person I sublet from or the actual landlord (twice removed).
I'll check my contract, I think it says nothing about this but I'll double check.
You need to ask the person to whom you pay rent - who may themselves need to ask the actual landlord.
Does the law in NY say anything about this in general or would it be different in every building? Can the landlord say whatever he wants?
