    Arrested for Stealing from Walmart
My Question Involves Criminal law for the state of: New Jersey
I Was Arrested on 3/29 for Theft from a WALMART STORE of 200 Dollars Now Since That Time I've Hired A Lawyer Then Walmart Said That They Had Me On Tape So My Lawyer Requested A Copy And That's When The Madness Began They Sent Something That My Lawyer Nor i could View Or Play On Our Computer, DVD or any other program Long story short My Lawyer Had To Go To WALMART To See The Video And Came Back Saying That The Guy Looked Like You And That He did Look Like He Was Stealing So I Said Alright Then Let's try And Get it Plead Down To A Lesser Charge Because The Charge is THEFT And I Wanted To Work Out Something Where There Would Be No Record Of This So As Not To Ruin My Chances Of Getting A JOB After This is DONE.
MY QUESTION IS WHAT DO YOU THINK THE CHANCES ARE OF ME GETTING THIS CHARGE PLEAD DOWN MY LAWYER MADE ME FEEL LIKE THERE WERE NO OTHER OPTIONS AND I WENT ONLINE AND READ ABOUT OTHER Plea's And Options THAT COULD be Considered .......

It may be plead down to a lesser charge.

BUT....the original charge of Retail Fraud will show up on criminal background checks.

There is also the issue of answering truthfully on job applications. So while I can say I was convicted of "Disorderly Person", many job applications want you to describe what happened....

    Thanks For That
So Does it Mean That Even Though I Can Possibly Get it Plead Down, That It Will Still Show As A Theft Simply Because Of The Kind Of Case It Was?

Please do not shout at us by typing in all caps. It doesn't get you any respect here and if you do it in the entire message, the forum software turns it into the goofy "initial caps" format like your posts.

    ...and you did it again.

Typing in all caps means you are yelling at the person. It also makes it hard for us to read.
