You will be getting a Civil Demand notice in the mail. Pay this immediately. Expect $150 or more.

Stay out of ALL Kohl's stores.

While they did not call police, they do have 1-2 years to file criminal charges. Do yourself and your green card a favor - don't shoplift.

    Thank you for your reply
does this shoplifting incident effect my future plan?
like job in retail stores, or my credit card history or my college course of education or accounting?

If you want to protect your future, don't steal.

Nobody here can promise you that your history of theft will remain a secret from future employers or licensing agencies, and you should expect that to happen if charges are filed.

It will definitely make jobs in retail (and other areas that involve a high level of trust) difficult.

McDonald's will take a person with one charge. Two charges, they won't even hire you.

Accounting? Not many people want a thief near the money or the monetary records.....

You likely already signed the trespass notice. Remember the stuff you signed in the store? Again, this applies to ALL Kohl's stores.

The Civil Demand...usually within 1 week to a few months. Depends on how many cases the lawyers have to process.
