Why Do I Have to Pay Anything when We Share Custody
My question involves child support in the State of: New Jersey
I have shared custody of my 6 year old, We each have her equal time. Her mother has no job and is a convicted felon who is now going in for child support. Why if we have equal time with my child should i have to pay for her to sit on her butt while I work my butt of to support my child and new family? Is there any way that the courts will see it on my side?

You should ask that Mom is imputed a wage equal to at least 40 hours @ min. wage.

But if the difference between that and your salary is still considerable, you may well be ordered to pay regardless of the time-share.

The reason you are going to pay is because the child in the courts eyes deserve the same opportunities with both parents. so if one parent makes more than the other the child not going half the time from one enviroment to another enviroment the other half of the time. The courts want the child to go to the roughly the same enviroment and both parents have the same opportunity to raise the child the same way. Not one having the means to do things and the other not having the opportunity.

What she does with the money is her business, but it gives her the opportunity to raise your daughter in the the same ball park as you.
