Filing for Child Support

My question involves child support in the State of: California
I want to file for child support but my son's father is not on his birth certificate. Can i still file without him on the bc or do i need to add him?

No signature needed on BC. Once he passes the DNA, you may want to ask him politely to sign it. Just a thought. For a boy, signing up for sports teams make life easier when you submit a BC with two signatures on it.
