    First Offense of Paraphernalia
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

I recently got charged with drug paraphernalia and its my first offense. I read somewhere that if i plead guilty, I would not be qualified to get financial aid. Is there anyway to keep this off my record without a lawyer or should i hire one? Thanks.

It would be sensible to consult a local criminal defense lawyer about your case and to ask them what they believe they can do for you based upon your age, prior criminal history, school, home and community records, the policies of the local prosecutor, and any first offender (if you are a first offender) drug diversion or deferral programs available in your county.
