Grandmother Picked Up Son 18 Days Ago Has Not Returned
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: ohio
I have been raising my grandson for over 6 years he is 7 now, I had custody and then we went to court again an his mother said she had her stuff together so we decided to give her split visatation 4days her 4 days us 3 days her 3 days us..So after all the years my son an her decided to get back together having no where to go she came to stay with me,she was here for 8plus months and i found out she was doing drugs in my home so i kicked her out.Her mother called asked to take my grandson for labor day picnic so of course i say OK,when she was pulling away she said im never bringing him back,so i found out her daughter is now living with her. it has been 18 days and they will not pick up the phone and they take him from school early so we can not get him. the order states he is to be with us 4 days then her 4 days...is she in contempt...all these years she never asked to see him,now her and my son break up..she is there with him please help me do i call the courts or call the police......

How did you end up with custody?

What do the custody orders say - word for word (minus names please)?

    Is Mom with your grandson?

i got custody because she dropped him off when he was one and didnt come back..so when we thought she got her life together we let her have 50/50.
the new agreement states my son and me parternal grandmother are to have him 4 days and the mother is to get him 4 days and so on,which of course she never kept up with,,,so my son made the mistake of taking her back after 7 years
Yes the mother is staying with her mother where my grandson is

So it's actually Mom who has the child and there's already a 50/50 timeshare (more or less) in place. Okay. So, go back to court. Calling them won't help - you'll actually have to file a motion to show cause in order for the court to find her in contempt.

The police won't help, since custody is a civil matter.

Please clarify - is your son supporting Mom?

no my son is living with me, when i threw her out. he was done with her, so thats why she is mad. so she is trying to hold my grandson because he no longer wants to be with her..im so afraid for my grandson and her other daughter their mother is a really bad drug addict, to the point she has passed out several times in the yard.i mean the worst of the worst (syringes).. how long will this take through the courts

I still really would like to know exactly how custody is worded - it may make a difference to the responses you will receive here.

oh her mother took my grandson to her house, while her daughter was staying in a motel bcuz her mother did not want her there, she just went to stay at the mothers the last couple of days.

the mother shall have the subject child for four days followed by four days with the father followed by three days with the mother followed by three days with the father and so on transition for the child shall occur at the end of the school days or at 3:15 p.m. on nonschool days

So the order says nothing about YOU. Your son will have to attempt to pick up his son and if mom won't turn him over, he will need to go to court and file for contempt.
