Tenant's Rights After Landlord's Foreclosure
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: I need a help!
I live in FL
In Search of the public Record , I've found "document type" - FINAL JUDGEMENT - "Legal Description" - FORECLOSURE.
I am the tenant of the property.
Is the owner still the owner of this property?
Do I have to pay the rent to the owner?
Today September 20, the owner sent me a text message that I still have to pay the rent (100%) to the owner. She told me I have to move until december 15th
Who own the property now?
The property will be sell on the public auction on January 17th
I hope after this auction I can stay in this property and the new owner will probably be my new plaintiff.
Please help me what have I to do?
I live in this propety more than 3 years.
What rights does the owner now, if in Clark of Sarasota record the property is as FORECLOSURE?
Re: Tenant's Rights After Landlord's Foreclosure
Until the actual sale occurs and barring any information from a court of law, your landlord is still the current property owner.
If you have a lease, it will be unaffected by the foreclosure. Only if the purchaser wants to occupy the property can they force you out early and even then it takes 90 day notice.
