Repercussions of Online Casino Chargebacks
Hello,
Thank you in advance for responding to my inquiry. I would like to leave out any moral implications to the action I am pondering, the sum is only a fraction of what I lost the last year but is the portion of which I truly felt was scammed from me.
I have read up extensively on FDCPA. I am more concerned of having my stellar credit tarnished than having some collection agency harass me over an unvalidated debt. I have spent many hours searching for cases where these CA reported derogatory info to the big 3 despite having not validated the debt with no success.
Is it even worth it? Will a CA report just out of "revenge"? Being that they have no foot to stand on regarding obtaining a judement for gambling debt
thanks in advance
Re: Repercussions of Online Casino Chargebacks
What's your question supposed to be?
If you owe a debt that's in the hands of a collection agency, and it's their policy to report the debt to credit reporting agencies, you can anticipate that they'll follow their policies. If they report the debt before you request validation, that's what they did. If you believe you have grounds to contest the entries with the CRA's, nothing is stopping you from doing so.
You haven't shared any information about jurisdiction. You're in what U.S. state?

State of Washington
My question is... Is it really worth it to try and invalidate some of these online casino charges?
I haven't initiated the chargeback as of yet so technically there is no debt. So if the debt does eventually get reported and is never validated I will most likely have to deal directly with the CRA's correct?
thanks
