Is Original Lease Still Valid if Tenant Moves to Unit Next Door
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Massachusetts
if a tenant signs a lease to unit 1 but moves to unit 2 without signing a new lease, with the landlords permission because of an unresolved issue, is the original lease still valid?

Im sorry if this isnt posted in the right place.
But my question is if a tenant signs a lease to unit 1 but moves to unit 2 without signing a new lease, with the landlords permission because of an unresolved issue, is the original lease still valid?
Re: Is Original Lease Still Valid if Tenant Moves to Unit Next Door
Probably. But I can't read the lease from here, and wasn't a party to any of the discussion surrounding the move. Who are you in this transaction - the tenant? And you're hoping that your landlord's accommodation of your request would allow you to walk away from the remaining lease term?
Re: Is Original Lease Still Valid if Tenant Moves to Unit Next Door
Yes I am the tenant, and I'm hoping to leave the remaining lease because my landlord is far from accommodating. My request was due to an issue with the first apartment that wasnt being resolved so i demanded to move next door. But of course the problems didnt end there. Also there isnt anything on the lease pertaining to this question unfortunately.
