Pre-Trial and Trial Schedule on Docket
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

My son was arrested and charged 16 months ago with bodily injury to a chiild. He's refused a plea and is scheduled for Pre-trial and Trial this fall in "CAC Court." We assume that's Children's Advocacy Center related, but I can locate nothing about any "CAC Court," its location in Collin County, the presiding Judge, or the Texas State Criminal Code which applies, if there is one, nor a new applicable docket.

Is this a blanket Court for all children testifying, or a grant given by the OAG for specific cases? He was told early on, money was going to be applied for, for "CAC Court." His c/a attorney hasn't contacted him since April, except to notify him by mail of the docket dates. My son's family has tried to communicate with the attorney, all forms without success. He has written permission from my son to speak with us.

Does anybody here know what kind of Court this is? I've used several search engines, and can locate nothing. Thanks in advance.

CAC appears to mean "Crimes Against Children". The local prosecutor has a "Crimes Against Children" division, and it could be that the court has assigned a judge to preside over those cases. Check with the clerk of the court.

Would you speculate as to a reason why the date of offense on the indictment differs from the date of offense listed on the docket? They were the same, but the docket date of offense was changed last winter to reflect a date 8 months prior to the indictment date of offense.

    Again, thanks.
