Presciption Fraud - How Likely Are Charges and What Will They Be
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arizona. I was questioned this past Tuesday regarding prescription fraud. Out of fear during the questioning I admitted guilt and the police officer & detective came and checked my home and left me. They said I would be brought up on charges and they were not going to detain me for having been so forthcoming with information. My question is, will I be arrested if I am brought up on charges and need the name of a good Defense Attorney in the state of Arizona. Also, what type of charge could I be brought up on. I've never been in trouble with the law in my life but my recent demise with Prescription Medications has lead me to seek counseling and treatment, which I advised the officers of. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
Re: Will I Be Brought Up on Charges
First off, you do need a lawyer but we can't provide referrals. This site makes it's money by having such businesses as clients. My other suggestion is to call the local (usually county) bar association in the place you are being charged and ask if they have referrals.
You needed an attorney even before now. As you are realizing, it was most likely a mistake to talk to one without legal counsel present.
You can be assured you will be brought up on charges. Whether that means you'll be hauled down to the police station or not is really not a big thing.
Most likely you'll just be ordered to appear at the first of many hearings in this case that is almost sure to be a felony. A lawyer generally can smooth the process along.
