Procedure for Getting J1 Waiver for Indian Citizen While Residing in Canada
    Hi,
I am an Indian currently residing in Canada and have a Canadian PR. My husband's company is transferring him to USA on L1 visa and we need to move to US within a year. However, I was in US on J1 visa from 2005-2008 with a 2 year home residency restriction. I need waiver for that. Indian Embassy in Canada refused my case saying that they don't know anything about it and I should contact Indian Embassy in DC. Indian Embassy, DC will not handle my case since I am not residing in USA currently. How do I go about getting the J1 waiver process? Who will do it for me?

    Thanks
    Sasha

    Read this.

The question of which office of the Indian government will (or should) process your application is not one of U.S. law. Perhaps this will help; or this.

    Thank you Mr. Knowitall,
However I have already gone through all these websites and they are not useful to me at this stage. As I mentioned earlier, I live in
Canada. So Indian Embassy in US will not handle my case since I am not in US. Indian embassy in Canada refused my case saying they
know nothing about it and redirected me to Indian Embassy, US. What do I do? Who do I approach?
