How Does Custody Change, Practically, As Your Child Ages
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Texas
As kids grow up and go through their teenage years, how does the reality of the custody situation change? Can anyone who has gone through this give me some tips? I know that the kids start to have more of their own decision-making abilities and may or may not care about what a court order states. Can they be compelled to obey a court order if they have other wishes?

Yes, and they should.
They are still children - and they need to be parented accordingly. They do not get to choose whether they want to go on court-ordered visitation, for example.
Now in an ideal world, both parents would work together and take this into consideration and voluntarily and amicably come to a workable plan. But at the end of the day, the parents need to remain parents and not let the children rule the roost.
