    Misdemeanor Marijuana Possession
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia

I was pulled over in the car with my boyfriend and after the car was searched I admitted to having a small (less than an ounce) of pot. My case was sent to the Magistrate Court and today I had my hearing to plead. I plead guilty thinking that the first offender rule (I have absolutely no criminal record and only a few traffic tickets) would apply but apparently I was wrong. After pleading guilty and being told about the fines/fees I was going to have to pay and the 12 month probation that I would be on. I asked about it falling off of my record due to the first offender law but she stated that it would not fall off of my record at the end of my probation period. Why is this? Why does first offender's not apply? Is there anything that I can do to fix this situation?

You apparently chose to plead guilty as charged, not under a first offender program, simply assuming that you would get some sort of special first offender disposition.

Consult a local lawyer and see if there's anything you can do to revisit your plea.
