hello. My 28 year old brother is currently serving time in a south Texas facility. He has been charged for statutory rape of a 14 year old girl. He is set to serve 7 years. I, personally, hate the age difference. As a sister I can only help him. The "girlfriend" , now 16, has recently given birth to my nephew and wishes to marry my brother once he is released.
My family lives in a small town where who you know counts. The stepmother of the victim is friends with the judge and has asked for the maxium sentenced allowed. My brother's former probation officer is in the same circle of friends. They have sent many public flyer several times this year to all residents of this small town with my brother's picture and charge. This is simply one example of such unnecessary conduct.
The victim is trying anything possible to drop charges but knowing her age little attention is drawn. I wish to find any loop holes or information that may help him.
