    Conversation Recording Law
    Hello,

I searched thru some of the previous post on recorded conversations and found some of them interesting. I was not able to find the answer to my question, so hopfully someone can help out.

I live in Brooklyn, NY. I want to know if I'm talking on the house phone and want to record the conversation....is it ok? If by law, I have to let the person I'm talking to, know it is being done....can I use a pre-recorded message, like the ones you hear when you call a business and they say they are doing it for training.

    Thanks,

    :)

New York is regarded as a "one party consent" state, meaning you can record your own conversations without the consent of the other parties.
