Ticketed for Speeding After Getting a Deferred Sentence for Shoplifting
My question involves criminal law for the state of: TX
I was given a ticket for theft under 50 on May 30th of this year. I applied for deferment and was granted it, with the 90 day probation. However, I got a speeding ticket this past Saturday (obviously falling within the 90 day period). I need to know if there is any way to still get the theft charge deferred or how I can keep it from going on my record? I took the LSAT in February and intended on starting law school. I was with my friend during the petty theft charge, and they said rather than fighting it and her taking all the blame, that deferring it was my best option. What can I do now? I really don't want the theft on my record. I know I shouldn't have been involved, it was stupid and the total cost came out to 13 dollars. NOt worth it... and it wont happen again. I am more than willing to accept punishment, just would like to not have ot pay for it forever by it being on my record.
THank you.
Re: Ticketed for Speeding After Getting a Deferred Sentence for Shoplifting
This is a Class C misdemeanor ticket? Speeding tickets aren't the sort of offense that will ordinarily result in a probation violation or revocation of a deferral, although I can make no promises for any specific case.

I believe so... it was written on as petty theft under50... and just like a regular speeding ticket... same form, etc.
I guess calling the court would be beneficial?
