How to Get Rid of a Protective Order
My question involves restraining orders in the State of: Texas
I got a protective order against the father of my child for me and my son, he joined the military and has changed quite a bit, he is a lot more respectful then he used to be, how would I go about getting it removed, i got it in December of last year. I told him I would only remove it if he was to take anger management classes. He came back after basic training and he spent time with our son and I. He got stationed in another state and wants us to move with him. How would I go about this? We didn't go to trial with the judge he just agreed to everything I served him with.
Re: How to Get Rid of a Protective Order
You asked the court to step in. There is no guarantee that they are willing to pescind the order of protection. However, you can motion your case back up and see if they are. Sometimes, even if the order remains, they'll modify it to no unlawful contact.

I have to ask - you only got the order in December, but since then he's joined the military and had a complete turnaround in less than a year?
Since the RO involves a child, I'm not sure the court will be keen to remove it at this point. You can try, though.

He does realize, of course, that these little visits of his where he shows you how much he has changed violate the order and can get him kicked out of the military, right?
