Supposedly getting sued by a creditor
So I got two letters that stated they were "advertisements" from lawyers saying that one of my creditors is suing me. They got this information from public records. Does anyone know where I find these "public records" and how I can find out if I am actually being sued? Also, if I am being sued what do I do now?????

    Find Out About Lawsuit
The suit was probably filed in the courts of the county where you reside. They should be able to look up any case in which you are named, if you call them or visit the clerk's office.

If you are being sued over an unpaid debt, you need to answer the complaint so that you are not defaulted. It will be beneficial to consult a local lawyer.

If the lawsuits were filed in your county of residence, you can go to the local Circuit Court and look for it. The clerk would be able to help you find it if you don't know how to search public records.
