Moving After Filing for Divorce
My question involves a marriage in the state of: PA
I want to file for divorce in PA. He already said he will not sign the papers which means that under law I will have to wait for 2 years before I will be able to get a divorce on my own. Do I have to remain in PA for the next 2 years to wait for divorce or can I move? I have a dual citizenship and want to move to EU after I file. Is that possible or do I need to keep my residency in PA?? There are no kids and no property.
Re: Moving After Filing for Divorce
In all honesty, there is nothing preventing you from returning to your home country immediately.
Re: Moving After Filing for Divorce
That's not the answer to my question.
I know there is nothing preventing me from going to EU, however, I was asking if I need to keep my residency in PA in order for divorce to be finalized? If i just leave US and do nothing, I will remain married forever. Can anybody else help please.
Re: Moving After Filing for Divorce
I'm sorry.
I'll rephrase.
Your divorce CAN be completed while you reside outside of the US. Is that clearer?
