Open Container in NYC by an International Student

Hello all,

I recently got an open container violation in New York and decided to pay the fine by mail. To date the money order has not been cashed and I've checked the status of the summons online right from when i received the ticket but to date it says that no cases have been found. I am not from the United States and the only ID I had was a student ID with a name and student ID number on it, so the officer took that as an ID. Was there not enough information for it to go through or what exactly has happened?

Is the online system enough of a check up to see because when I put the summons number in it says that no cases have been found.
