How to Get an Unlicensed Driving Charge Dismissed
My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: California.

I was charged with VC 12500(a) as a misdemeanor. There was a delay in processing my renewal due to an fine owed out of state, which was paid prior to the issuing of this ticket, but was not processed by the DMV. I have a valid license now and arraignment later this week. How do I go about getting this charge dismissed or just pay a fee?

It is a fix-it ticket. You should be able to go into the court and pay the clerk an administrative fee and get the matter cleared.

I understand 12500(a) can be either an infraction or a misdemeanor. Are you sure this is the case for a 12500(a) misdemeanor charge? Will the charge then be dropped? Thank you.

It is rare that these are actually filed as misdemeanors regardless of what the officer might check.

You will know at arraignment and can probably take care of it then if they do proceed as an infraction in traffic court.
