But I also have a friend who was just like this kid--in your eyes a 'typical teenager'--and she treated her parents terribly. But even though she wasn't abused, her parents never treated her with disrespect (in fact, they loved her more than anything), she was granted emancipation from her parents. The real kicker is that right now she is living with them because she had to move back to South Dakota. So it's not always about the abuse aspect of it. But I do see where you're coming from with it, and I'm not arguing with that. I'm just arguing the fact that its not just abuse.
