MIP in a Parking Lot
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nebraska
a few nights ago a friend and I were sitting in a parking lot and 2 policemen pulled up and I had alcohol in the back, I had been drinking but wasn't driving. i recieved an MIP (I'm 18 years old) and my friend got something for procurring alcohol to a minor.. he didn't purchase the alcohol, I did at a local liquor store, in which they hadn't ID'ed me. what is he looking at? how do I fix this? an attorney may be out of the question due to the fact that money's extremely tight right now..

Re: MIP in a Parking Lot
You just told us that he's looking at a charge for procuring alcohol for a minor. You're free to indicate to his lawyer that he didn't procure and that you'll testify to that effect. I'm not sure how your money situation relates to his retaining counsel; if he cannot afford a lawyer he can check with the court to see if he qualifies for a court-appointed lawyer.
