Driving Without a License While Absconding from Parole
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
My boyfriend absconded from parole while on a tether. He was suppose to do a tether for 90 days the phone line through Comcast kept messing up his parole officer told him if it happens again he won't be tether-able anymore. Well, it happened again, so he cut off the tether and ran for a year until just recently he got caught driving a vehicle without a license and wearing no seat belt. He plead guilty and got the seat belt dropped and did 11 days in county as time served for the driving without a license. Now he has to deal with the parole violation. I'm scared they might send him back to prison. What do you think?
Re: Driving Without a License While Absconding from Parole
You have good reason to be worried. He is insanely stupid. The problems with the tether might have been resolved as not being his fault, but there's no excusing the flight and subsequent criminal activity. He definitely needs a lawyer to mitigate the sanctions.
