DUI Probation Violation by Driving with Suspended License
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Alabama
I am 18 years old on 1 year of unsupervised probation for a DUI, with 12 months of suspended jail time. A week ago I got tickets for no seat belt and driving with a suspended license, which violates my probation. I have paid all my fines and i start DUI class in 3 days. I go to court in 25 days, I have a lawyer, and i will do anything to stay out of jail. Do you think they will send me to jail for a year?
Re: DUI Probation Violation by Driving with Suspended License
A year? I wouldn't think so, but you're subject to both that PLUS 180 days for driving under suspension plus fines and costs on the DUS and all the other charges, plus the vehicle can (probably already was) be impounded.
You better hope that lawyer is a good one.

If you're lucky, the judge will enter your violation and continue your case. You said you'll do anything to stay out of jail. How bout you start with NOT DRIVING!!!
