How to Get Out of My Parents' Home
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: New York

For the past few years there have been a lot more problems around the house. A lot of arguments between my parents and me, or between my brothers and my parents.

I am currently a college student on break trying to find a job with no luck. My parents are deciding to move out into the middle of no where because they want to start a life of their own, I guess. When this happens I will have to move with them because I have no where else to go. They ended up selling my car while I was at school, so that leaves me stuck at home. I am at a dead end, I'm currently trying to figure out how to get myself out of this hole. Filing for an independent and moving out on my own are basically out of the question because i dont have a job, and I know welfare is only for less fortunate families.

    I really need help...

Emancipation is legal recognition of an independent minor to do things like enter into contracts. You're an adult (even if you were a minor, emancipation doesn't apply to this situation at all). You're already living on the "welfare" of your parents because they are under no obligation to support you where you are now or in the middle of nowhere. Your options are to take their support on their terms or get your self a job. Lots of people put off college or even put themselves through college without living off their parents. My daughter was in fact completely self sufficient by her junior year (not that I didn't offer to continue to support her until she graduated. but she's a tough kid).
