    Tresspassing and Malicious Mischief
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois

I have a few questions..not sure how to go about this but I will try my best to explain. I was at a bar one night out of my hometown/state and went drinking at a bar with my mother. I am unfamiliar with the town and illinois state law. Anyways, to make a long story short..I ended up blacking out while my mom was trying to get me to her place(at which I was staying at for the night) and somehow, someway I ended up in someones house/apartment..apparantley i had kicked in the door or somehow forced the door open and also supposedly urinated on their carpet...and I only remember very few bits and pieces..I have no clue how or why I ended up doing that and at that place. It was really scary and I had never experienced a blackout before. My mother had called the police to look for me since according to my mother who lost track of me. The cops arrested me and took me in to the station and made out the tickets/copies and finished up the police report. They then contacted and released me to my parents. I am 21 years of age...most things on my record are traffic violations with the exception of the worst crime being a D.U.I. first offense and this is on my Iowa record. The only other crime besides that being on my record is a criminal mischeif 5th degree which was quite some time ago(few years ago) The cops told my parents that I had no prior convictions/or crimes in illinois in which case they went leanient on me. Now my questions..the tickets are marked local ordinance..one is for tresspassing and the other for malicious mischief...I have no clue what the damages are but im going to assume it wasn't a huge amount..my mother talked to a sheriff in the town and the sheriff told her that local ordinances are punishable by fines/restitution only. I do not know what to believe and I am sweating bullets just thinking about it. My court date is still yet a month away. I would like to know what the differences of it being marked a local ordinance vs anything else is? Any help/advice/information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I guess also what i'm asking is what should I expect as far as charges/penalties are concerned? Also do I have reason to worry about the prosecuting attorney/judge pulling up my Iowa record before my court appearance and if so will the charges be based upon that or the town/state of illinois in which I have no prior convictions as stated..I live approximately 60 miles from this town/state in my hometown/state...like I said i'm probably sweating bullets for nothing. I just hope and pray for the fact that these tickets are marked as "local ordinances" that it won't be a huge ordeal. As long as I can avoid jail time, anything else would be more than my pleasure to make up for the damages/crime that I committed under a blackout. I never plan on drinking again..it has gotten me in to too much trouble as it is. Like I said any info/suggestions/advice is more than greatly appreciated..thanks.

    Re: Tresspassing and Malicious Mischief
Anybody know Illinois law/procedures for this? Like I said anything anybody can throw out there for advice/info./or anything else that I should know about would be well appreciated...I hate sweating bullets when I have no idea how the law works in the court rooms. I guess that's a good thing because if I did, with a lack of study in criminal justice, I would have to have a decent criminal record to understand all of it. Like i said outside the DUI which is my most major crime of all, i've never committed trespassing/malicious mischief and this was also under the influence of alcohol. But in the state of Ill. Wanting to know local ordinance violations vs. it being termed or marked as other???

You say it was local but you didn't say where you are.

For you to be 21 with your record, I strongly suggest you look into alcohol education to help you get sober. You have a problem.
