What to Do After Your Landlord Files for Bankruptcy
My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Florida

I received a notice that my landlord filed for bankruptcy. My lease expired April 22, 2011. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge in this department. A few questions I have are:

    1. Do I need to continue to pay rent?(Or keep it in an account?)
    2. Will I need to find a new place to live?
    3. Where do I find if I am considered a creditor?

Please ask me questions about this notice and I can answer them, for I am in unknown territory! I will give you more info as long as I have the questions asked!! Thank you so much ahead of time :)

you need to continue to pay rent until directed otherwise.

hard to say. Until such time the BK is finalized, there is no way to know what is actually going to happen

if you paid your LL a deposit, you are a creditor. If he owes you money for anything else, you are a creditor.

Did you get a notice of how to file a creditor's claim? If so, it was likely the result of the LL listing you as a creditor in his filing.
