Request for a Backdoor Deal
My question involves child support in the State of: fl
In a support case, what is the best way to respond to a request by the OP to informally go against a court order? OP claiming money problems and wants to work out a deal.
CSE took tax refund and looks like they returned it to OP, so can't claim money problems in my opinion.
I would not want to lose the ability to enforce the order. We've already had one contempt hearing.
Trying to find the best way to say that its something I cannot agree to without making a bad situation worse. I know that I don't have the authority to change the order, and if there are money issues OP can file for a modification.
Any advice would help.
Re: Request for a Backdoor Deal
Stick to your court order.
Really - that's the best thing you can do. There's nothing stopping you from accepting 'whatever payment NCP can afford', as long as you deduct it from the obligation and keep records.
You didn't answer the question of what CSE said when they returned the tax refund. That's highly unusual.
Re: Request for a Backdoor Deal
OP - Original Poster ... What does it stand for in this thread? Or should I be asking if the OP is the CP or NCP?

OP = Other Parent.
I know, it can be confusing.
Re: Request for a Backdoor Deal
Just found out about the refund last night. Have to wait til morning to call CSE to find out what may have happened and will post an answer. OP is other parent. Sorry for the confusion.
Re: Request for a Backdoor Deal
CSE said that they removed the tax refund credit against arrears because it is being adjusted and to check back in 2 weeks.
