Minor Shoplifting
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
I was recently caught shoplifting at Macy's, we just sent in the the Civil Duty Fee, but I was wondering if this would go on my RAP sheet and if it does, is there anyway to remove this. There was a police officer involved but only to ask me about what happened and inform me on what would happen next. Also will I HAVE to go to court(the officer said it might happen but he didn't specify if it usually happens or whatever) and if I do what would I plead, probably guilty, however I don't want to go to Juvenal Detention Hall or whatever. Also I am 14 and this is my first offense and my LAST. This was done on impulse :wallbang: . Also how would I act in the court room(I am scared about this because I got very freaked out in the holding room at the store, hystericals and all). Please, please help me.

Re: Minor Shoplifting
Since police were called, you can pretty much count on going to court. And yes, having a record.
For how to act in court, there is a stickied thread for that. Dress nice. Address the judge as "Your Honor". Take proof of payment for the Civil Demand. be polite. No gum, don't smoke, don't bring friends.
