First Time Retail Theft at JCPenny
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois

Well I was 18 (20 now) and going on about 2 years ago, I shoplifted (& regret) at JCPenny and got caught on the way out. I only had about $50 or less of clothes. The people at JCPenny took the merchandise, took pictures of it with my ID on it to show what all was mine, the cops came and arrested me and took me to jail where I sat for about an hour before I got bailed ($100) out. I had a court date that I went too and got 1 year of court supervision and 12 hours of community service, which I did my 12 hours and everything.

So will this still be on my record and if so would it be felony or a misdemeanor?

Likely a misdemeanor. Yes, it will be on your record.

You can go to the court and get a Certified Copy of judgment, for around $11. It will detail everything - original charge, if you plead to a lesser charge, etc.
