Getting Spousal Support or Retirement Funds
My question involves a marriage in the state of: michigan
Can I get Spousal support or part of My wifes 401K. If I can get part of her 401k do I need to wait for disbursement until she reaches retirement?
    The Situation:
    Married 20 years
    18 year old Daughter
No substantial Assets Except Employeed wife 401K approx $350k
I (the husband) been on disability about 8 years I recieve about $1600/month
    Wife earns approx $90k/year
    Currently reside in Michigan
She is being job relocated to Indiana
She said I'm not going with. She wants a seperation to start
    I may go to Wisconsin.
Will being seperated and living in different states affect any financial outcome for me if this ends in a divorce.
Am I entitled to recieve any monies from her?
    Thank You

You can make a claim for a share of your spouse's retirement assets that accrued during marriage (and she yours). If you want, you should be able to immediately roll over your share into your own retirement account (and vice versa). You are free to request spousal support.
