    Threatened by Daughter in Indiana
Last month my 19 year old daughter brought a homeless 19 year old friend who is a boy, to live at my house after I told her no way. They and their freinds continually kept me, a day worker, up night after night with constant company and a night owl life style. Ok, so last night it all came to a head after constant warnings and I told them all to get out or I'd have the police remove them. My daughter got very angry, told me off and also said... "I want to kill you, and I've wanted to kill you for years" I think that was her exact words... whenever she gets angry, she starts spouting death threats at me. I also saw on her blog where she talks about pulling my eyeballs out while I am still alive, and throwing me off a bridge.

I'm concerned at hearing and reading this kind of thing from her. Is there anything I should be doing about it? Are these kind of threats illegal and should I do something? She was gone all night after I "evicted" that crowd of "kids" and told her on the phone when she called at 3am, that she can come back to the house today, after I get home from work to talk, to see if we can resolve this issue, and let her come back home. The homeless freind of hers has already found somewhere else to live.

You've got at least a couple of options.

From what she said to you she probably committed some type of criminal offense such as terroristic threatening--you could contact your local prosecutor and file a criminal complaint against her. Once that is done you have to recognize that the criminal case is out of your hands--the prosecutor will decide what, if anything, to do.

Another option you may have is to seek to have her civilly committed. I do not know the status of her psychological well being but I have seen cases where a family member threatened other family members (they exhibited behavior which was homicidal, suicidal, or gravely disabling) and the member making the threats was civilly committed to an institution by the courts--the family members who are threatened normally institute the proceedings.
