Re: Caught Shoplifting in Frys, California
Thank you all, for your help. Yesterday i received a letter from frys & it says California Penal Code section 490.5 (c) & said they had information about the shoplifting & so they want me to pay $100 as damages.
    1. Please be aware that these damages are allowed by law as a civil remedy payable to Frys & are not in lieu of any criminal prosecution that may be imposed on you by the local authorities.

    2. If the payment in full is not received with in 20days Frys will thereafter determine whether or not to bring a legal action against you to recover the above referenced amount. If frys does elect to bring legal action, such suit would be filed in small claims court by a member of frys risk management staff. Any such action may result in additional costs to you.

    My questions:
1, from this do you think they filed case on me in court?
    2. is there any other charges other than $100 ?
    3. Does this info being reported to any theft data base or to my credit history ?
