My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arizona
I was just caught today for shoplifting. I had done this once nearly ten years ago and was able to take a class to have the expunged from my record. The store security was very rough at first in the way they grabbed me and took me back to the office. Later they calmed down and actually began to joke with me. They actually apologized for the inappropriate and irrelevant comments they had made. They also decided not to trespass me from the property. The cops did come and arrest me. They wrote me a ticket to appear at court and were very nice and even cracked a few jokes then let me go. The officer told me not to worry about it too much but, I don't know what to expect. Will this count as my first offense or my second? Will I have to do actual jail time? I do not have the money to hire an attorney, should I plead guilty? Since it has been almost ten years will I be able to take another class for this?
