Ontario Licence Suspended, Have Clean U.S. Licence
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Ontario, Canada
Hello,
I have a suspended licence in Ontario for DUI, but I have a perfectly good clean licence in florida. If I were to go down to florida, buy a car there, register it, and insure it, and drive it back to ontario and use it during my suspension, that would work wouldn't it?
If I get pulled over I have florida tags, florida insurance and a florida licence which is all in good standing.
Just looking for opinion on this, because if somehow they did figure it out I would be facing a really harsh penalty I'm sure.

Re: Ontario Licence Suspended, Have Clean U.S. Licence
If your license is suspended in Ontario, you cannot legally drive in Ontario. Even if you have a valid license from another jurisdiction.

But I can drive in any other jurisdiction?
Re: Ontario Licence Suspended, Have Clean U.S. Licence
Ontario can't suspend your license anywhere else. They can inform other people of your suspension there. If you had a license in a bordering state like NY you might be in trouble but I don't think Florida will care.

So basically it's good for anywhere but Ontario...
