Dropping Charges
My question involves criminal law for the state of: North Carolina
I took out assault charges on my ex boyfriend for slapping me and violating ]a domestic violence order. If i dont show up in court will the charges be dropped? Also if do not show up will i be arrested for it?

Re: Dropping Charges
It's up to the State whether they'll go ahead without you.
Why wouldn't you want to show up?

Re: Dropping Charges
The state doesn't need you to go ahead with prosecution. If you've been subpoenaed and you don't turn up, they can issue a bench warrant for your arrest.
