What are the Consequences of ACD on Immigration
My question involves criminal records for the state of: NY.
My query is regarding a misdemeanor for a non citizen and non resident, How it effects his/her ability to travel to the country.
I was charged of petit larceny for $4.If am granted and I accept an ACOD/ACD.I know it will be adjourned for 6 months and if during this adjournment, Iam clean then my case will be dismissed and sealed. I understand that once it is dismissed it will be considered a nullity.
However, my concern is, will this have any effect in my travel to US during this 6months adjournment period? Thereafter if i check mark the 'Yes' box (whether arrested before) on the custom form at the airport, what will be the impact.
    **Nassau County NY.

You didn't tell us whether or not the deal involved your allocuting - stating facts on the record sufficient to support a guilty plea. If so, the USCIS can treat it as a conviction even if the court did not.

From what you've told us so far this single incident wouldn't disqualify you from entering the U.S., but you have to tell the truth or risk being accused of attempting fraud (or later of having committed fraud to enter the U.S.), and I can't promise you that it won't create issues at the port of entry.
