    Foreclosure After Bankruptcy
    My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: California
    My husband filed bankruptcy and has a mortgage which is behind since last June we have tried working with the lender to modify the loan to no avail, after the discharge how long do we have to move out of the house? is it immediate or does the lender have to go through eviction steps? Please help we have no money or credit to move.:(

    If it's a non-judicial foreclosure, which most are, they can file the notice to quit immediately which gives you 3 days before they can file against you in court. How long you actually have depends on how aggressively they want to pursue having you out. In some cases, they may offer you cash to move out in a timely and orderly fashion.
