Mother Guardian of Bank Account and Won't Let Me Have My Money
I live in pennsylvania and im 20 years old. I recently moved out of my parents house and in with my sister. My mother is the guardian of my bank account and has been saving my money ever since i was born. Any kind of money i ever got (birthdays, holidays, and 4 year job income) has gone into the bank account.
She wont give me any of it, and i cant do anything with the money unless she is present. Shes mad at me for moving out, she wont answer any of my emails about me getting my money. My question is if i have any rights to getting my money. I have a very large amount and i do need it.
Thankyou
Re: Mother Guardian of Bank Account and Wont Let Me Have My Money
The money is in "the bank account" - this is an account exclusively in mom's name? Are you sure the money went into the account, and that it's still there?
How much are we talking about?
Your mother was appointed by a court to be your guardian? If not, you're on the account as a minor but the bank won't release the money even though you've proved that you've reached adulthood? What's the bank's position.

Re: Mother Guardian of Bank Account and Won't Let Me Have My Money
The bank account is in MY name, but she is the guardian of it. I am very sure all the money went in there. Before I moved out I looked at the most recent bank receipt and I had $16,000. However, I'm very close with my dad and I still talk to him, and even he cant help me because she is the guardian. I just talked to him recently and he told me she put all of my money into my little sisters bank account; because supposedly she has already talked to people and thinks she doesnt have to give me my money, so I guess she's just trying to make it harder for me...
