What's the Likelihood of a Citizenship Application Being Denied with Misdemeanors
I've been a permanent resident for 10 years and I am applying for US Citizenship. However recently I got charged with petty retail theft and obstructing identification (both on the same day). I was arrested, taken to the station and released without paying any fine. I got court in 1 month, so I just put charges pending on my application. I'm 100 % sure that I'm not gonna go to jail for this or anything, I just have to pay the court fine, (already payed the store fine) and probably community service and probation. I know it's possible to get denied because of this but is the chance very high or low. I've showed good moral character in the past 10 years, (never been involved with any crime) but unfortunately I got stupid and hung out with the wrong people recently. It's too late to consult an immigration attorney as I have already submitted the applications, plus I don't have the time and money to invest in one. Thanks for your help?

Please no judging, I'd appreciate it if you give me a helpful answer.

You really do need to find the money for an attorney or consult a social service agency that assists with immigration issues. Catholic Charities and Lutheran Relief are two well known around the country; there may be others in your community.
