Collection of Medical Bill for a Baby That Was Put for Adoption from Birth Mother
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: VA
in 2007 I gave birth to a baby boy and put him to adoption, due to unfortunate circumstances. Adoption agency or just that representative was unpleasant to work with. they didn't provide me with proper care and my bills
then in 2009 some bill came up from Children specialty group, saying that I need to pay for medical bill for the baby, (about 1000$)
I didn't have money so it went to collection..
now I'm trying to get back on my feet and trying to pay for this collection and ask the collection agency to delete that record from my report in return for deletion since partly it wasn't my bill.
I also asked collection agency to pay for the bill and they refused to do so...
What should I do in order to remove it from my report?
thanks in advance

If you owe the money, it can be reported on your credit report.
Why do you believe that the bill isn't yours to pay? If you believe the adoption agency was supposed to pay your medical bills, contact them and ask them to pay the bill.
