Emancipate in Oregon Go to Other States
I'm in Oregon and have checked out emancipation, I've decided to do it, but, this may seem as a dumb question, will it apply outside of Oregon? Oregon requires an ID for emancipated minors, will I need it in other states?

...and do you actually qualify to be emancipated by the State of Oregon?

Please help us help others - emancipation is so very difficult to achieve, and we'd love for other minors to understand exactly how you're able to meet the requirements for your State!

It could help a LOT of teens :)

Well, okay, this is in Oregon. I got a lump some of cash from social security, so I started landscaping and making electric guitars I trade and sell on craigslist, I make good money so my parents helped me get an apartment. I called the juvenile court and got a application form from the intake counselor in charge of emancipation. I filled it out and stuff and have a preliminary hearing next week.

So can I move to another state?

If it makes it more interesting, I'm moving to start a commune with some comrades, we just started the planning though so I'm not certain it's going to kick off.

So you are currently earning enough (I'm not talking about the lump sum unless it runs to the hundreds of thousands, or millions) to afford market rent, utilities, food, clothing, health care, transportation, incidentals, sundry items.......AND you're still in school keeping good grades?

Yeah, last trimester I had 3.something (GPA), I have all A's except one F this'n, but the trimester just started last week, I have the F because I was gone Friday, which we had a test, I can take it after spring break though. (one week of the new trimester then spring break :wallbang:) Also, this is kind of unrelated to my question that has not been answered yet, but can I drop out in Oregon at 16, and if not, can I take the GED?

Also the lump sum is 30K
